About Me

Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning. – Mahatma Gandhi

I am Pat Abbott, retired and living at the beach in North Carolina. I retired from a long, successful clinical psychology practice in 2015. In my early retirement, I returned to school earning a M. S. in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University in 2015. In addition to being a licensed psychologist, I hold certifications as a Personal Trainer, Exercise Physiologist, and Spinning Instructor.

I have long interests in wellness, mental and physical, fitness, and personal growth. Aging provides unique challenges and opportunities in each of these areas.

In the pages and posts, I hope to share with you some of my own experiences in aging, I hope successfully -- and disgracefully.
